Grand Park

Grand Park is located at 200 N Grand Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90012, in the heart of L.A. This park is perhaps the most urban park in Los Angeles, being fairly close to a subway station and city hall. This park welcomes everyone and is open from 5:30 A.M. - 10:00 P.M. every day. Grand Park’s biggest attractions are its child-friendly playground, majestic fountains, the Civic Flag Center, its plazas, and art installments that can be found around the 12-acre park. However, it can get crowded, and has some trash. This spectacular urban park is a must-see for anyone interested in art.

Pros: Everyone is welcomed, a variety of features.

Cons: Crowded, some trash

Overall rating: 10/10

Griffith Park

If you want to find one of the best parks in all of Los Angeles, spend a day at Griffith Park. This park covers 4,310 acres of land and is open 24 hours. Griffith Park lies west of the Golden State Freeway, between Los Feliz Boulevard in the south and the Ventura Freeway in the north. Depending on where you want to go in the park, you may have alternate entry methods. The signs around the park help you find the way to the attraction of your choice. There is free parking and many free exhibits throughout the park. Some main attractions include hiking trails, the Greek Theater, an observatory, Traveltown (a train station), the Los Angeles Zoo, and many more attractions. The park is very pleasant and offers a remarkable view of Los Angeles.

With such a wonderful park, however, there must be some cons. Public transportation is a main problem, because it is only available on certain days of the week. Parking is also a problem. If you don’t get to the park early enough, you may have to park on the street, and the walk to the observatory is all uphill. The uphill walk may be very difficult for some people. However, if you plan ahead of your trip, the pros will outweigh the cons and the park is very enjoyable.

Pros: Many exhibits, suitable for all ages, incredible views, free parking and exhibits

Cons: Public transportation is difficult, parking spots are difficult to find, some attractions require an uphill walk
